DETERMINATION OF RELATIVE DENSITY & PH OF LIQUID ADMIXTURE
TEST STANDARD: IS 9103:1999, Reaffirmed 2008
APPARATUS: Water bath, Hydrometer, Measuring cylinder
PROCEDURE: Place about 400 ml of admixture in a 500-ml graduated cylinder avoiding the formation of air bubbles in the liquid. Maintain the temperature of the liquid and stem to be 20 ± 5ºC with the help of water bath. Insert the hydrometer into the cylinder in such a way that it floats free and does not touch the side of the cylinder. Release the hydrometer when approximately in the equilibrium position. When it achieved the equilibrium state for transparent liquids read the scale at the bottom of the meniscus or for opaque liquids read the scale where the meniscus merges with the stem of the hydrometer to report the relative density
PH Value of admixture shall be determined by PH meter or PH strip.
