Specification for Cube Mould, Beam Mould, Tamping Rod for Concrete testing
Special Requirements for Cube Mould, Beam Mould
The molds will be of metal and will be sufficient to prevent deformation. They shall be constructed in such a manner as to allow the removal of molded specimens without damage and shall be designed in such a way that, when they are ready for use, the dimensions and inner faces shall be accurate within the prescribed limits. Will be The internal faces of the mold will be smooth.
Mold plates and the inside face of the base plate may contain blowflies and blemishes on the surface, such as honey-combing. All such blowholes and cavities shall be fitted with mild steel pins or by wehling and shall be finished flush with the surface either by machining or by filing.
However, the number of blowholes allowed on each plate can be greater than 50 and in the case of cubic molds of sizes 150 mm and 10, 150 mm and 10 are included, cylindrical molds of 150 mm diameter to 300 mm height and beam sizes. 100 x 100 x 500 mm and 150 x 150 x 700 mm.
The size of the blockhole in any direction cannot exceed 5 mm with a depth of 3 to 5 mm. In the case of cylindrical molds, the size of the blowhole / cavity cannot exceed 20–25 mm in any direction.
Cube MouldA cube mold of 50 mm size will be either a single mold or with more than one mold box, although the number of molds will not exceed 3. The cube size will be 100 mm, 150 mm, 225 mm and 300 mm. Separation of two parts with base plate.

Tamping Rod – The tamping rod will be of the following type:
- 16 mm ± 0.5 mm diameter and 600 ± 2 mm ,shall be made of mild steel with a round working end.
- The square section with a tamping face will be made of 25 ± 0.5 mm square and 400 ± 2 mm long and 2 kg weight made of mild steel and will be provided with a handle.
- 12x 25 mm cross-section and convenient length 125 to 150 mm.
- The tamping face will be flat and the right angle for the length of the bar shall be made of non-absorbent, resistant non-brittle material, durometer hardness of about 80 ± 10 at 200 ° C or about15 min by immersion in paraffin in ebonite fibers.
